Choose which apps use your mobile data. Firewall AI is a no-root firewall for Android that lets you block internet access per app, keep selected apps on Wi-Fi and review outgoing connections. Put your data bundle and app connections under your control.
Apps can contact advertising, analytics and other services in the background. Firewall AI helps you see this activity and restrict apps that do not need to be online, while keeping essential services connected.
Internet access for the apps you choose
• Set separate rules for Wi-Fi, mobile data and roaming.
• Keep selected video, gaming and social apps on Wi-Fi only.
• Block internet access without switching off the whole phone's connection.
• Turn the firewall on or off from Android Quick Settings.
Keep messaging and maps available on mobile data while limiting other apps. Review roaming permissions before travelling. Reducing unnecessary connections can help limit data use; the effect depends on your rules and how you use your apps.
See background connections clearly
The connection log shows outgoing connection attempts with the app, destination IP address, country and time, plus host or domain details when available. Data counters help you spot unexpected traffic. Tags and filters help you focus on the apps that need attention.
A connection to an unfamiliar destination is not automatically malicious. Use the log to understand the activity and decide which internet permissions make sense.
AI-assisted analysis with Deep Detective™
Deep Detective helps identify suspicious connection patterns on your device. The intrusion prevention system, or IPS, uses filter lists to help block known malicious and tracking destinations. The lists cover more than 10 million domains.
Your app rules control which apps may go online. Selected destination filters help reduce unwanted connections from the apps you allow.
DNS settings for unwanted requests
Choose a DNS provider or configure a custom DNS server. DNS-based filtering can help block requests to listed tracking, advertising and phishing domains. Combine it with per-app rules for more control over outgoing traffic.
Filtering depends on the selected lists and how an app connects. Not every advert or tracking method can be blocked.
Basic app control and optional PRO
Start with the basic firewall to manage internet access. Firewall AI PRO adds enhanced filter lists and IPS PRO for more advanced destination filtering. Review the available features, purchase options and terms in the app before upgrading.
Android VPN permission, explained
Firewall AI uses Android's VpnService to route network traffic through a local interface and filter it on your device. Traffic is not routed through an external VPN server. The app does not change your location or hide your public IP address.
Android permits one active VPN service per user profile. Firewall AI cannot run at the same time as another VPN in that profile.
Local rules, no ads
The app has no advertising. Your rules and connection logs are stored on your phone. DNS requests, updates, licensing and optional online lookups may involve external services, as explained in the privacy policy. Encrypted chat and HTTPS content is not decrypted.
Start with your most important apps
Install Firewall AI, approve the VPN request and set your first rules. Review the log and adjust access as needed. Blocking an app affects its online features as well as background traffic. Messages and syncing may pause until you allow access again.
Firewall AI controls outgoing connections. It does not scan files for viruses or replace protection against incoming network attacks.
