codai

codai is an AI assistant that can actually use your Android phone for you.

Type or say what you want in plain language — "open WhatsApp and tell me what Ana wrote", "set an alarm for 6:30", "find the PDF I downloaded yesterday" — and codai taps, types and reads the screen the way you would. It shows you every step, asks before doing anything risky, and the same conversation can be followed from your other devices.

WHAT IT CAN DO
• Use other apps for you. codai sees the screen like a screen reader does, then taps, types, scrolls and swipes — only for the task you asked for.
• Answer questions about your phone: notifications, alarms, contacts, calendar, battery, Bluetooth.
• Do small chores: alarms and timers, calendar events, open links, share text, copy to clipboard, reply to a notification, start a call.
• Work with files: list, search, read, edit and move files in your storage.
• Run several tasks at once, each in its own window. Tasks that need the screen wait in a visible queue.
• Voice in and out, a floating bubble, a mini-chat, a home-screen widget and a Quick Settings tile.
• For developers: with a Termux-compatible terminal installed, codai gets a real Linux-style shell.

WORKS ON-DEVICE, TOO
An optional on-device model (Gemma 4 E2B via LiteRT-LM, plus our fine-tuned codai-nano variants — about 2.6 GB, downloaded on request) can handle simple steps right on the phone and hands over to the cloud when a task is too hard. You choose: off, fast-lane or local-first.

YOU STAY IN CONTROL
• Phone control only happens on your explicit request, while a task is running. Without the Accessibility permission codai still works as a plain chat app.
• Sending a message, paying, or touching a banking, wallet, settings or password-manager app pops up an "ask card" first. Nothing is sent or bought behind your back.
• Three autonomy levels: strict (confirm everything), assisted (default), autopilot (confirm only sends and payments).
• Stop at any time; every turn also has a time budget.
• Per-session spending budget and a cost receipt for every session.

SHARED SESSIONS ACROSS DEVICES
Turn on Session sync and the same conversation is mirrored live to your other phones and the web console. Only one device drives the phone; the others follow with a REMOTE badge as viewers or editors. Dispatch lets you start a task on your phone from somewhere else.

BRING YOUR OWN AI KEY
Use codai's cloud, or plug in your own key for OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, OpenRouter or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. Some features depend on your codai account. Keys stay on the device and go only to the provider you picked.

PRIVACY
No analytics SDK, no ad SDK, no crash reporter. We do not sell data. Screen content read through Accessibility is never used for training. Password fields are hidden from accessibility services by Android itself. Full policy: https://codai.ro/privacy

Requires Android 11 or newer. The on-device model works best on recent flagship phones. codai's cloud service is a separate, hosted product; some features depend on your codai account.
