Shima: Dynamic Island

Shima puts a living island at the top of your screen. It rests around the camera and widens for whatever your phone is doing: music playing, a charger plugged in, the torch on, a timer running, a ride on its way. Tap it and it opens into a card with the controls you need.

WHAT IT SHOWS
• Music, with artwork, controls and synced lyrics when the player provides them
• Charging, with the battery level and how it is charging
• Flashlight, with its brightness on the card
• Timers, rides, deliveries and other live updates from your apps
• Volume, ringer and brightness changes as you make them
• The mic and camera when an app is using them

ALERTS YOU CHOOSE
Pick what the island announces: low battery, battery full, battery saver, no signal, USB mode, Do Not Disturb, alarms, rotation lock, screen recording, screenshots and more. Tune each alert's icon, colour, animation and timing.

GESTURES
Give a tap, long press or swipe on the island to an app, a widget or an action: back, home, recent apps, the notification shade, quick settings, lock screen, screenshot, flashlight, rotation lock, Do Not Disturb, Tasker tasks and more. Gesture rules let one gesture do different things depending on what the phone is doing.

MADE TO FIT YOUR PHONE
• Line the island up with your camera cutout, per screen edge and orientation, with a separate fit for each screen of a foldable
• Set its size and roundness
• Pick one of seven palettes, light or dark, or follow your wallpaper with Material You
• Hide it in full-screen apps, or in the apps you choose
• Switch it on and off from a Quick Settings tile

No account, no ads, no analytics. Everything the island shows is read on your phone and used there; none of it is sent to the developer or anyone else.

PERMISSIONS
Shima uses Android's accessibility service to draw the island above the status bar, where it can be tapped, and to carry out the gestures you set. It also checks which app is open so the island can stay out of its way. It does not read what is on your screen. Notification access lets the island show music and live updates. Other permissions are asked for only when you turn on the alert that needs them.
