A mechanical lotus of twelve polished brass petals lies open on dark teak, each petal an hour. The flower is rendered in 3D: every petal is cupped and pointed, with a raised midrib and rolled edges, and catches the light of a softbox along its curve, darker deep in its cup, round a domed seed pod ringed with stamens. The hours are engraved near the petal tips.
Every hour, it blooms again
As the hour turns, the petals fold up into a closed bud while the flower turns, pause, and open again one by one, a ripple running round the ring.
Tap to see it bloom
Tap the watch face and the lotus closes and blooms for you.
Blackened steel hands
Dark hands with a bright metal edge stand out over the polished petals.
Three metals
- Brass.
- Copper.
- Silver.
Readings on brass leaves
Steps, unread notifications and battery are engraved on small brass leaves lying on the flower at 9, 6 and 3, the date on a leaf at 12. Put another app's complication there and it shows that app's icon and value; set a slot to Empty and its leaf goes away.
Easy on the battery
The flower moves only on a tap and on the hour. Always-on shows only the hour marks and the hands, dim on black.
