Rounder Watch Face

A soft, rounded instrument on true black: a large time over one dark card that holds three concentric progress rings, with a band of two more readings beneath it.

The time fills the top of the face in tall condensed numerals, the hours always shown with two digits and the colon on the centre line. It follows your watch's 12/24-hour setting. Above it, the day number and weekday sit between two small line glyphs: a lightning bolt, lit while the watch is charging, and a bell, lit while you have unread notifications.

The card is the heart of the face. On its right, three rings share one centre, each filling clockwise from twelve and shaped as an arrow, its point marking the value. To their left, a column repeats each ring's reading in large numerals with a label above, in the ring's own colour, so the column doubles as the rings' legend. Out of the box the rings show steps toward your step goal, battery and heart rate. In the card's top-left corner sits your count of unread notifications, with the UV index in a rounded pill beneath it.

Under the card, a band running edge to edge carries two readings, each with its own detailed icon. By default that is the chance of rain, beside a water drop, and the current temperature, beside a weather icon: sun, partly cloudy, cloud, rain, snow, storm or fog, and the moon or the moon behind cloud at night. The icons are drawn with light and shade - a glowing sun, cloud built up in soft rounded billows, a glossy drop - rather than flat outlines.

Soft dots mark the minutes round the rim. Two small sparkles and a tiny heart at the bottom are the only decoration. The whole face comes in five colour themes, and each one tints the card, the rim and the labels as well as the rings, so every theme holds together.

Always-on shows the whole face, dimmed and drawn in fine lines: the card and the band as outlines, the rings as thin arcs, and every reading and label in its place.

SETTINGS

Colour theme: Blush, Ocean, Mint, Sunset or Silver. Sunset is the default.

Outer ring, middle ring, inner ring: steps, battery, heart rate, chance of rain or UV index. Each ring's label changes with it. Steps fill toward your step goal, battery and chance of rain toward 100%, heart rate at 200 and the UV index at 11.

Left capsule, right capsule: the two readings in the band at the bottom - weather, step goal (percent reached), heart rate, battery, chance of rain, UV index or notifications.

Temperature units: follow your phone, Celsius or Fahrenheit.

Weather readings need weather on your watch; until it arrives they show dashes.
